I am a caring and empathic healthcare practitioner, licensed to practice acupuncture and herbal medicine in both WA and CA. I'm accredited in body-mind therapies and somatic practices acquired over the past 30+ years. Since the late 1960s, I have immersed myself in practices to develop the spiritual side of my nature.
Structural deformities in my spine and hand, diagnosed as sequelae of infant polio, lead me into exploring somatic (body) therapy, such as hatha yoga, Continuum movement therapy, qi gong. Learning to live with systemic weakness (as suggested by doctors) was not an option. I wanted to live my life fully. At age 19 I began working with a private yoga teacher on a daily basis, which lead to the study of meditation and Eastern philosophy, putting me on a path of self-discovery and my own healing process, which continues to this day.
In daily yoga practice, from age 19 to 25, I learned to concentrate my attention on the Breath while holding postures, which lead to an experience of truly inhabiting the body.
In 1985, I began studying with Emilie Conrad, creator of Continuum, an awareness-based movement practice that has helped thousands of people heal from physical and emotional injuries. Quite similar to yoga, this work integrates breath, sound and micro-movements in practice, while observing what is happening on the inside. A sort of "yoga from the inside out."

The idea of Holistic medicine is founded in Nature and our human relationship with it. Our bodies are quite adept at repairing themselves. We use methods that aid that natural ability with modalities like acupuncture, qi gong, nutritional guidance and gentle release techniques, like cranial sacral & visceral therapies.
I believe many illnesses are caused by the toxins in our foods and the air we breathe. Avoiding manufactured ingredients and pesticides in food, water, and bodycare products, reduces the harmful substances entering our bodies. Replacing them with cleaner, more organically grown food and natural plant remedies aids the body in healing itself and
preventing future and long-term disease.
Yoga therapy increases flexibility and stamina, alleviates pain and anxiety, and enhances the immune system. Yoga therapy focuses not only on physical health, but overall wellness
of both the mind and emotions.
